Match Reports: Wre v Ches and WreR vs MWA

Another week and another weekend of fantastic results for both Wreccelsham teams.

The first team, fresh off the heels of their first win of the season vs Chertsey Old Salesian (10-0) last week in the league, kicked off their County Cup campaign with a commanding victory over Chessington KC Athletic at home. Again it was a game of 10 goals, although the visitors did manage to score 2 themselves this week leaving Wrecclesham to find enough time in 90mins to slot away 8 goals this week. Goal Scorers Shea Fahy, Jack Falvey, Gareth Marshall, Ryan Tull, Dave Bridger, Sheldon Grime and Nick Sims, with his second brace in as many games, blew the opposition away in this one sided contest. Final result 8-2.

The reserve team also continued their fine form to make it five league games without defeat so far this season on a blustery away day in Milford, seeing off Milford and Whitley Athletic F.C. 3-1 although they had their work cut out having fallen behind midway through the first half when goalkeeper Jamie Clements fumbled the ball into the path of the Milford striker to stroke the ball home into an empty net. This was, though, the only real clear cut opportunity of the game for Milford and Wreccelsham were level just before half time as Kevon Hyman picked the ball up on the edge of the Milford box and drove forwards unleashing a fierce yet unorthodox toe-poke past the Milford Keeper to give the Wolves parity going into half time. With the wind behind them in the second half Wreccelsham pushed on and it wasn't long before striker Karl smith won a central freekick on the edge of the Milford area. Placing the ball down confidently Smith waited for the whistle and confidently struck the ball in to the bottom left hand corner to give the Wolves the lead. The game was wrapped up on 75mins after a few chances passed Wrecclesham by but it was Matty James with a close range finish after good build up play to give the away side a 3-1 lead and extend their unbeaten run in the league so far this season.

Next week sees the first team resume their league campaign vs Hammer Athletic F.C.while the reserves don't have a fixture this coming weekend.
