Update on start of the 2017/18 season

First of all apologies for the lack of updates recently. We have been exceptionally busy with big changes over the summer but should hopefully start getting more regular updates back on track in the coming weeks.

After finishing 3rd in division 2 last season the first team have been promoted to the 1st division and the reserves have remained in division 4 for the upcoming season

Over the summer there has been lots of changes to the backroom staff as well with the incoming manager Andy Warner and his assistant Chris Gupp's taking charge of the first team for the new season, while previous first team manager Alex Walsh has taken charge of the reserve teams after Adam King stepped down from the role.

With the new incoming managers we have also had a massive influx of new players coming into the club ensuring that both teams will be very competitive this year.

Currently with both teams two games in to the new season there has been mix of fortunes with the first team losing their opening two games of the season by 5 goals to 4 in both fixtures against Deepcut Community FC and Woking and Maybury FC and while the results are not what they might have been the team have showed they are competitive in the new league while trying to bed in a multitude of new players. The reserves have won back to back fixtures in their opening games with a solid 2-1 win vs Guildford Park Reserves on the opening day having been a goal behind at half time and an emphatic 6-1 vs Woking Tigers Reserves in the previous round of fixtures and are currently sitting in 1st place in the league.

Further posts and match reports to follow.
